Jorja Smith goes garage.
The bubbling English singer-songwriter has surprised fans with an unexpected collaboration that showcases the diversity of her vocal talents. Linking up with UK bass icon Preditah for “On My Mind,” the duo’s chemistry is a match made in garage gold.
Over the juggling percussion, Smith questions if she should stick it out a little longer in a relationship. Hoping, she might get over her partners faults, or is it time to call it quits.
“Don’t want to feel ya / Don’t want you on my mind,” she sings. “Why on earth would I leave, if you were everything I wanted you to be? / When I saw what you did, who you were with, got me questioning the things that I believe.”
Since building a strong following off her 2016 debut EP Project 11, and subsequent features on Drake’s More Life project, and latest single “Teenage Fantasy,” Jorja is currently on a mini North American tour. Later this fall she will be joining Bruno Mars’ “24K Magic World Tour.”
