The fusion of past and future can be heard throughout Malachiae Warren’s major label debut EP, Heard U Was In My City, which was released on Motown Records last year. The EP showcased Malachiae’s appreciation of classic R&B with tracks like “I’m Down” which samples Boyz II Men’s mega hit “On Bended Knee.”
Today (July 7), the young ATL native returns with an updated and remixed version of the song, featuring his Street Love family, Lloyd. The ‘Tru’ singer kicks off the smooth new single, borrowing from his boy Drake, he sings: “Do anything that you want me to / Like Controlla / Shawty won’t you come over / I’ll show ya, I’ll show ya / Baby I’m so down to go down.”
Malachiae comes in next with his sex-fueled verse about what and how he plans to treat his lady in the bedroom. “I’m young but I’m ready / I can teach you something if you let me / Just tell me what it is / Shawty you gon’ get the biz,” he sings.
Just last month, Malachiae surprised fans with the new EP, The Wake Up. He is currently working on his debut album, which is coming soon via Motown Records.
Teaming up with Lloyd, the duo came through with the perfect summer R&B flow on the new single version of “I’m Down.”
