Formerly known as “Vincent Clark”, indie R&B group HisStory have released their brand new project titled, How Bad Do You Want It.
The album will motivate, inspire, and provoke new energy in the bedroom, while taking listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of current relationships.
The 9-track project includes primarily new original songs, along with an acoustic cover of D’Angelo’s classic ballad, “Untitled (How Does It Feel).”
“This project was independently produced by us and out of the frustration of feeling like our career was at a standstill,” explains HisStory. “The title track ‘How Bad Do You Want It’ was a true question that we had to ask ourselves; is it truly worth the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifice that it requires to be in this industry? We came to the conclusion that we are ready to face anything that comes along with the territory being the greatest.”

Class, edge, personality, and mystery; the qualities every woman seeks in a companion. These also describe the diverse traits represented by Atlanta’s very own male R&B quartet, now known to the world as HisStory. This vocal quartet not only brings together a rare blend of soul, gospel, and R&B that penetrates the soul of any listener, but they embody a dynamic sound of fluid harmonies that has been absent from the recording industry for a long time.
Based out of Atlanta, GA, Jalil Harris (Da BaddestEva), and Rodrique Roberts (The Secret Weapon) met while at Cedar Grove High School. Their talents brought them together under the support of the school chorus director, Mr. Fred King. Jalil’s father, Donel Harris, took notice of how serious the boys were about performing, and began developing their skills along side his business partner Eric Foxworth.
Originally known as The DooWhopBoiz, these teenage sensations’ popularity rose quickly. It wasn’t long before they were performing shows in Atlanta, Washington. D.C., and New York City. They got the chance to open for notable names such as Patti Labelle, John Legend, Fantasia, and Rickey Smiley, as well as a featured performance spot on BET’s “The Monique Show.” These rising stars also wrote and recorded the theme music for the Atlanta Falcons titled “We Are Atlanta,” which was for sale at Target Stores and played at Falcons’ home games.
Adding the talent of Detroit native Jajuan “JD” Glasper (Mr. Show off), the group continued to impress audiences with their tight harmonies and New Edition reminiscent dance moves. By this time, the “boiz” were no longer boys, and needed a name more suitable for their evolution; and maturing sound. Vincent Clark was birthed, gaining stamps of approval from other respected groups such as 112, Silk, and Boyz II Men. Kelly Rowland was even recorded complementing the group, and expressing the need for a “sangin boy group”.
After a 6 month tour with the UniverSoul Circus, the group added South Carolina native Travis “TravB” Belton (Mr. Set The Tone), making the group complete. They quickly began working on new music and creating a sound that was uniquely their own.
With 10 years of hard work, several member and name changes, this dynamic quartet is ready to reintroduce feel good music to the world. Their tenacity and resilience will undoubtedly place them on stages in front of the masses, allowing them to rewrite history by sharing HISStory.
