The 2017 BET Awards are finally here. Several of your favorite artists are looking to take home some trophies this year.
Beyoncé dominates the list of nominees with seven mentions including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Album of the Year for Lemonade. Interestingly, Queen Bey’s sister, Solange Knowles, has four nods and will be competing with her sibling in several categories including Video of the Year, Album of the Year and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist.
Meanwhile, Bruno Mars secured five nominations, including Album of the Year for 24K Magic and Best Male R&B/Pop Artist, while Chance the Rapper received four mentions, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Album of the Year. The Chicago rhymer will also receive the Humanitarian Award for his work with the inner-city youth in Chicago.
Nominations aside, the list of performers are also impressive. Bruno Mars, Future, Migos, Tamar Braxton, 2 Chainz, Mary J. Blige, Trey Songz and more are set to rock the mic at the star-studded event. In addition, rap vets Lil’ Kim and Havoc reportedly will pay tribute to the late rapper Prodigy who passed away last week from complications related to sickle cell anemia.
The 2017 BET Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8PM ET.
