Karrueche Tran is a free woman…from Chris Brown, that is.
Yesterday (June 15), a judge granted the model/actress a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, singer Chris Brown, which will last 5 years.
Tran first filed for a restraining order in February claiming he punched her in the stomach and pushed her down the stairs in their relationship. According to TMZ, yesterday in court, Tran provided details that when she refused to return diamond rings Brown gave her, he became increasingly aggressive.
She told the judge that Brown texted her threat like “Bitch I will beat the s— out of you” and “I promise you I will make your life hell. Another text she provided read, “I’m not being nice to you no more, if I see you out in public again and I’m there I will make you hate me even more, don’t be anywhere I’m out in public, I’m going to ban you from all events.”
Reading from a pre-written statement in court, Tran also alleged, “Around the second week of February, he told a few people that he was going to kill me.”
Brown wasn’t present in court, and reportedly, the judge refused to allow him to join by phone.

Karrueche Tran has been granted a five-year restraining order against Chris Brown. On Thursday (June 15), a judge sided with the actress-model in the legal battle with her famous ex.
Tran took the stand earlier today, pleading her case against Brown. According to TMZ, she said that Chris beat her, threatened her, and demanded diamonds that he bought her be returned.
The model-turned-actress also claimed that Brown sent her threatening texts. “I’m not being nice to you no more,” he allegedly said in one message. “If I see you out in public again and I’m there I will make you hate me even more, don’t be anywhere I’m out in public, I’m going to ban you from all events.”
Other threats were reported, including, “Bitch I will beat the s**t out of you,” and “I promise you I will make your life hell.”
Brown’s attorneys questioned Tran if she taunted Brown by saying that she sold the diamonds he bought her. Tran maintained that the diamonds were hers and did not need to be returned. Brown’s legal team also reportedly brought up the fact that Tran didn’t report the alleged violence or threats to authorities earlier.
The “Claws” actress was seeking a lifelong restraining order from Brown, who was not present in court today. The singer was also not allowed to join the hearing by phone.
Last month, Brown denied Tran’s allegations. “What’s even more fucked up is that, they played off my past by saying I abused her,” he said. “…Opening old wounds to make Kae a victim, that’s some evil shit. Sad part, y’all believe it. ‘Lever her alone.’ Provoking me to spazz so they can have something. Notice this shit happens when they need to promote something. No one cares, especially me. That’s why I’m being slandered.”
